Hybrid Battery Conditioning (reconditioning)

We use quality upgraded parts during the reconditioning process. Every Hybrid battery cell goes through in an extensive repair and rebuild process which takes many hours. The battery is dissembled and subject to a complete reconditioning process. The process begins with load testing of individual battery cell and identifying its current overall state of health (SOH). The battery modules or “cells” are conditioned in a process which reverses aging of the modules and restores their ability to store electrical energy. The modules capacity is determined and the module is placed in an “inventory” of similar capacity modules. The remaining components of the battery are cleaned, reconditioned, and tested to ensure proper operation. The battery connections or “Bus Bars” are brushed with chemical to prevent corrosion and ensure top performance with long battery life. Every battery pack must meet stringent performance standards before it is installed in a vehicle. The battery is then placed back into the vehicle, and the customer can look forward to many years of improved performance and efficiency.

Why does a hybrid battery need to be conditioned or replaced

The nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) hybrid batteries in hybrid vehicles (HEV’s) experience a loss of power, energy & capacity over time. This is a natural and inherent characteristic of NiMH batteries.
